    Hi.

Just so you know someone is reading your post, I thought I would say Hi. I am hoping someone will answer you as I am due for my permanent implant on 22-9-14 and would like to be as prepared as possible regarding what to expect. What condition have you got? I have congenital spinal stenosis complicated by also having Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Unfortunately pain fromboth conditions can overlap, so until I've had the implant a while (I had the trial for 9 days but this wasn't really long enough), I won't know what I,m left with. I am thinking you must be due for your follow up appointment soon. Hopefully they can adjust the impulses to stop the spasms at least. Please let me know how you progress. It is very helpful to share this experience with someone who understands. Take care, Debbie

Graham, I am so sorry. You must be very upset. I am starting to wonder if your'e right. Have been talking to someone else on the forum and they have had their scs removed altogether. He said his speciallist told him lots of people are starting to do the same. He is now surviving on injections. It is very worrying. Have you got ny Tramadol or something to relieve the pain? I really hope you get a quick response to your call. Let us know if you can. Take care, Debbie

    Hi Graham

Yes, I knew about the driving thing. We went for a special induction talk before the trial implant and they told us there. Also after the first year you have to get insurance cover. Hope your situation improves after tomorrow. I went for my pre-op Tuesday and they have discovered a potential heart problem, so they have cancelled my implant surgery until they sort it out. Bit scary. Best of luck tomorrow.

Hi Graham. What a horrid decision to have to make. I hope that whatever you decide will be the right thing for you. Only you know what your body is telling you. I hope you can get some straight answers about your options. Doctors are so good at being vague. I can only imagine your disappointment after going through all the build up to having the SCS, only for it not to work. I know some people swear by regular pain killing injections so maybe that's one thing to look into.

I am still undergoing investigations into my heart problem. Have just had 24hr ECG monitor removed so will hopefully know more once that is analysed. Take care, Debbie
