Spinal fusion

wow at last I have had my L3/4 spinal fusion,23/3

i am so very chuffed with how I'm getting on,being only a week today that I was discharged from hospital.

eternally greatful to my most amazing spinal consultant and each and everyone who looked after me.

i may have lost my job through all this, those who remember I had my contract NHS terminated on grounds ill health.

so this is my new chapter,to think how terrified I was of the surgery,I can't believe how amazing I feel, and I am able to do bits and pieces, and walking now good, with no stick,to anyone themselves waiting for the same, have faith,I was the wimpiest patient going.

That's brilliant, Ellen. I'm in for S1-L4 fusion a week on Wednesday. Looking forward to get off all the meds. Keep us posted with how things are going.

Oh this has cheered me up no end. I am having disc C5/6 and C6/7 removed and fused a week tomorrow and I am terrified of the surgery and also how I will get on post op.

I am so glad you are recovering so swiftly and thank you for the reassurance xxxx

That's wonderful! My surgeon told me I'd have 70%-90% improvement following my fusion, but they hit complications during the surgery duer to the 8 laser surgeries I':d had during the previous year. (I had incorrectly been told that the laser doesn't make any scar tissue.). I hope that you feel better evey day smile
