Spinal fusion and spinal decompression - still having pain 7 months on

I had spinal decompression last Nov followed 2 weeks later by fusion - prior to the operations I suffered from really strong sciatic pain usually brought on by standing or walking for more than 5 minutes. Since the surgery I have had a billion physio sessions, facet joint injections but the pain is now actually worse than before the surgery - it is now constant from my left bum through down my left and i am pretty much in agony musch of the time. I am living off tramadol...anybody got any ideas - I have been back to my consultant twice , had CT scans and he says everything is fine and I can go back to running ( I used to run about 50K a week) ... nice idea love , shame I cant really walk ... any ideas gratefully received..

If the MRI shows new bulging discs then you can either rectify this situation by exercise (they do in the end work) or another surgery which in my opinion would get rid of the problem quickly.
Good luck, J

Hi Debbie
I'm having the exact problem on l4 and l5 it's horrible with pain down the left also been living on tramadol I'm upto 150mg and I feel like I get energy but toward the afternoon the pain is back double I haven't been for surgery yet due to delay which has given me more damage 1year later I'm worried now.
If then pain is worse after surgery do u think maybe there was nerve damage done maybe get a second opinion to help ease you.
I'm also left with nothing moving foward not even sure Wat to do about pain anymore.
Running could make it worse if there's damage I think but I'm not even sure now
