Spleen removed 12/07/1967 - still doing good! Be encouraged!!

Hey - Due to a road traffic accident 50 plus years ago, I had to have my Spleen removed aged 13. So back in the day there was lots the world didn't know about the impact of a splenectomy and I've survived! I have travelled taken the anti malaria medications as any sane person would, I have had all the usual jabs a traveller needs to have. I was in my late 40's before I got the pneumonia shots , then only in the last 5 years the additional shots. I do not take regular antibiotics, though in my acne bound years (16-early 20's) I took constant courses of Erythromycin..... I guess that may have had some impact for my immune system.

So what I'm saying here is.......... its possible to have a full and complete life, do all the things you want, live life, have adventure, travel, fun, regular risk taking and not to worry about it because your body will still do what its got to do and like enjoyable experience.

This is the 1st site I have found where I can record encouragement for others. Every best Wish - Gloria xxx
