Do you understand the basics of your back? L4/S5 are vertebrae. L is for the group of b lumbar vertebrae which is the lower part of your back. And the S is for the sacral vertebrae of your back which sits just above your lumbar section. The MRI shows that the space between them is beginning to squeeze together which is making the disc (a soft jelly like substance contained in a fibrous material) bulge a bit. Your bulge is not enough to pinch off any of the nerves in your back but this can change. This is a very common location for this problem. Sometimes when the disc is squished enough the jelly like material can squish out of the fibrous cover and pinch a nerve which can then cause pain to radiate down one or both legs. The spondylolisthesis (I've got this too and it's hurts like crazy) is where one vertebrae (the bone) has slipped forward from the vertebrae below it.

Hi Kylie
It is very rare that you would get scan results sent to you unless you have gone private.Normaly your Gp or Speacialist would send for you and explain the outcome of the scan. You say you have lots of pain in the mornings when waking up. Does it go when you are up and on the move. This could be caused by the Spondylosis which a lot of people develop in there early years. May be anti inflamatorys would help you.You may be need to google the word Spondylosis and read the explanation it gives you.
Kind Rgrds John Ak
