Spotting

Hi ladies

I am 50 and pretty certain I am going through peri, I'm still having periods but a bit all over the place, I can go between light and heavy flow within a couple of hours. The last couple of weeks I've been spotting every few days, a bit brownish in colour. Sorry for the description. But I'm panicking because I also suffer with health anxiety and after Googling I'm worried I have cancer. All I'm thinking is what if it isn't peri??? I quite often feel bloated, have bowel and other digestive issues and I'm really starting to fear the worst. Anyone else suffering like this xx

Hi Lisa, I'm 54 and still have periods, both light and very heavy. I've been spotting in between for years. It's very annoying mostly. My Gyn did do a biopsy just to make sure it's not cancer and I'm fine. It would probably help you to have the biopsy as well just to clear your mind. Most likely it's just our hormones going wacky. Hang in there.

Hi Lisa, yes, you are in peri!

That is how it started for me, and my sister too, I remember worrying and she said she had the same brown stuff. Eventually it changed, and went to continuous spotting, longer periods, shorter, skipping a few, back to normal. All over the place.

Please don't google. Don't let anxiety get the better of you. Trust me!!!

You are at that age when meno is knocking, but I'm 54 now and still not on the other side. I also get all kinds of other symptoms, including the ones you mention. Took me a very long time to accept it was peri causing everything, spent alot of money going to all kinds of specialists. Try not to go down that rabbit hole. Read all the posts from our old archives. It'll help.
