I'm in perimenopause. I've always had a heavy period but now I'm on day 9 and I'm still getting spotting pinky/ red. My dr referred me in April as I was had spotting in my discharge. Two polyps were removed which was causing the bleeding. Had my ovaries checked with another appointment and all fine. First time I've had a long period as well as all the horrible symptoms nausea, headache, night sweats, acid reflux etc!
Just feeling anxious about my long period
My Drs running all menopause blood tests etc
thank you for anyones replies

You and I are in the same boat. I completely missed my period in Sept. Started to spot around the 2nd of October did this for over a week. Then i started to bleed not extremely heavy like a day 3 period for myself so Im going to say I started bleeding heavier around the 10th before that the spotting was barely noticeable So now today is the 19th and I am concerned because Im still bleeding so almost 10 days of regular bleeding for me but again im not bleeding extremely heavy it just seems like ive had a pad on for a month. Im a little concerned about Anemia because Im already anemic. But I feel ok. Hopefully its over soon.

thanks for replying. Me too I was aneamic 4 years ago nearly had a blood transfusion but luckily after a year on iron tablets I was out of anemia. I've been taking iron tablets everyday once a day for 4 years due to heavy periods. Last week when I started I was heavy I nearly passed out so I've upped my tablets to 2 a day. I spoken to my DR today shes running all tests menopause ones and iron etc! I'm still spotting first time ever!

ugh its so horrible!!! All these ups and downs ontop of the prolonged bleeding I pulled my neck or pinched it so painful and started with a burning mouth no cause but my acid reflux has been acting up so maybe that. Its the weirdest thing but ive read many women get this. Im 43 been going through this for 4 years both my grandmother my mother and Aunt were full meni by 46ish hoping im done soon. If you dont mind me asking how old are you. And have you skipped any periods yet?

I'm 43 too. My sister is 44 and is now in menopause after a year of no periods.
I haven't skipped a period. I cont wait for no more periods I get so stressed every month as I'm so heavy and have to plan around that painful week. I've noticed my periods are now every 21 days instead of 28 days.
I'm constantly going for hospital appointments. I've also had two breast appointments as I found two lumps under my armpit and have painful breasts. Thankfully it was all clear.
Had an endoscopy all clear hate acid reflux its ruined my life day to day.
I've recently discovered menobalance starpowa and I'm on day 5....today I've got no nausea! feel abit normal apart from bloated tummy. Maybe give it a try?
Have you had your bleeding diagnosed? Maybe get it checked out for peace of mind.

I had two heavy periods in two weeks and spotting before/after and in between. It was weeks on bleeding every day. I went to OBGYN and she suggested an internal ultrasound. All was good. She said, "Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better." So, I goes it's just another awful part of perimenopause.

thank you for your reply. Me too had two polyps removed too and she could see a lot of Discharge too.
I'm thinking of taking Tranexmic i've forgotten what its called, as it helped last time. I cont keep getting heavy periods its running my life and I'm becoming anemic.
So unfair. Do you have anymore peri symptoms. I've had an endoscopy, ultrasound, fibroscan all clear.
Got to do more bloods as ive got nightsweats, dizziness, nausea now feel so fatigue
