Spotting everyday since my last period?

Hi, I’m 47 years old and I have been spotting ever since my last period ended 7 days ago.  It’s somtimes brownish and other times red....this morning it was like the start of another full blown period! this has never happened before.  I did have stress this past month, I had a lumpectomy to remove a cancerous tumor in my left breast... early stage breast cancer.    Not sure if the stress of that is related to my irregular periods, but I read sometimes stress will bring this on..... please help!

Kim, mention it to your doctor. But I think it’s normal. My periods are all over the place. Lately I got it a week late, one week off, then another full blown period that hasn’t slowed down in 6 days so far. I’ve also had months where I spotted the whole time. And I’ve even skipped three months.

    But still ask your doc.

Sorry about the lump, so scary. Do you need further treatment?

Hi Kim my periods are either every 2/3 or 6 weeks and sometimes I have spotting in between, I went to doctors and had a internal ultrasound and they found fibroids which don’t need any treatment at the moment,?i would go and see your doctor just to give you some peace of mind xx

So sorry you're going through this!  I suggest that you go to your gyn and tell them about your symptoms.  Most anything can be taken care of if caught in time, but, as with breast cancer, you need to be proactive. Best of luck to you! xx

    Dear Kim

In peri my first menopause symptom was spotting between periods, sometimes only with a small gap before starting again. I did request a transvaginal ultrasound just to check things through, so perhaps just get it checked for peace of mind

Hi Kim, i am 47 also and my periods have been close together then further apart for over a year. However, for the last 24 days i have had continuous bleeding sometimes spotting and other days flooding. Like you this is new to me but,  i saw my gynae on Tuesday and she said its normal. I have to have a think about having an ablation or the coil and let her know when i go back in 2 months. She gave me a prescription for 2 drugs to stop the bleeding but i have not got them yet. As your hormones are fluctuating your cycle is not being complete so the blood is not shed properly. x
