Spotting for 8 days. Worried sick!

Hello this is my first post so sorry if there is TMI. I have been spotting for 8 days now a mixture of brown and red and changing between the two. I have checked myself with a tampon and it is only noticable on there. Today I have noticed a little bit of red stringy discharge. I have made myself sore by obsessing by checking it with a tampon. I am going to see my GP on Tuesday. Any advice would be apprecaited as I am making myself ill over it. Thank you.

    Ask your GP for a blood test to see if you have a hormone imbalance also ask for a smear test.
