Sprained ankle 6 weeks back and still not healed

Posted , 6 users are following.

I stumbled over a couple steps 6 weeks back. Did not have any major bruising. I made sure to use RICE right away for a solid 2 weeks, and then used compression brace for 4 weeks and then the last 2 weeks I've been using a brace with mild support. I was able to start walking on my foot after 2 days of the sprain. I've also been trying not to walk on it much. However, now after a little bit of walking it feels tired and warm. I have a bump below my ankle bone that feels hard. Any advice on how to get rid of the bump. Also never went to a doctor, so not sure if this is a sprain. Here are 3 links with images:

I can't see your pics of  your ankle. But honestly you really should get yourself an X-ray and or an MRI to rule out ligament /tendon tears or breakage. Trust me on this...... 3 surgeries later for "just" a sprain.

    Best of luck to you!

    Hi Classy,

Your pictures might suggest a lateral ankle sprain, but without a lot of swelling and bruising. Not quite sure what to make of it.

That bump below ankle bone might be inflamed ligaments, or just other tissue inflammation. Again, hard to know for sure.

If your condition doesn't improve over time you might consider seeking professional help to delve into the heart of the matter and get proper treatment as required.
