Spread of itchy area

I have treated my LS with the Clobetesol for about 5 years but had symptoms for probably 20 plus years. The last 6 months I've had a new symptom and wonder if it is part of the whole LS thing or something else. My area of initial symptoms has been Labia Minor, Peri, to anus, and all in between. I have started itching where the hair of Labia Major starts and spreads all the way to my inner thighs. I have a hard time getting the Clob there because of the hair and have not been able to get rid of the itchiness. I've also stopped wearing underwear, I rinse with warm water with a squirter after urination, I gently pat dry but to no avail . The primary symptoms are bad enough but this new symptom is like bugs crawling all over the area. Thanks for any advice in advance.

I don't have the problem (yet), but would trimming NOT shaving the hair help?

Everything I have read about LS indicates that we should never shave the hair, but should carefully cut it. Itching across your thigh sounds awful and I am sorry this has happened. Have you seen your GP or specialist? I wish you well.

mine has spread to this same area over the past year but i put the clob on there regardless of the hair. I am sure it will seep its way through and get to the skin. It sounds bad so i would apply twice a day until the crawling ants have gone then once a day etc etc.

Are you sure you're not having some yeast activity? Have you tried anti-fungals? I would not even consider hair removal...I think you'd just be adding to the problem. I'd get an over the counter clotrimozole and see if it helps. If so, go to doc and get a prescription strength - maybe nystatin. If not, I'd go to doc and see if you have something else going on.

Frankly, any rash type issue should have resolved with any hint of steroid. And you don't want all that steroid all over your skin.
