Spreading

My uticaria started spreading about a week ago, I now have it on my entire torso - front and back, back of legs and under arms, groin and neck.   If you have used a saline solution with some success don't think a dip in the ocean will have the same effect.   I went for a dip two days ago and the uticaria got very, very angry, I now resemble a cooked lobster and absolutely nothing relieves the itch.   I saw the Dermotologist yesterday and have been slotted in for a skin biopsy next Tuesday so the Dermotologist wouldn't give me anything for the itch/rash.   After the biopsy I have to wait another week for the findings and then hoepfully start some sort of treatment..

I found with the saline solution you have to rinse off not long after applying as the dried salt seems to actually inflame the skin, once rinsed off I then apply a moisturiser such as sorbolene.   It seems to me that any remedy/treatment will work for a finite time, once the skin gets used to it it stops working and you have to move on to something else.   Anyone else have the same experience?

I didnt find that problem with the saline solution.

The last two days I have soaked for 30mins in Aspells Cyder Vinegar and I found it very good for relieving the itching.

I tried the vinigar treatment as well but like everything else so far it didn't work.   Yesterday was the itchiest I've been since being diagnosed with uticaria,.I've put on a couple of kgs over the last couple of months so today I decided to kill two birds and fast for a couple of days (5/2 diet, 1/4 of normal calorie intake), so I'll take the opportunity to cut out gluten, fruit, biscuits, chocolate, etc and we'll see how the itch goes.

On another note, yesterday the chemist gave me some doxylamine to help me sleep so I took a couple last night.  Around 1:00am I was just so itchy and scratching non stop so covered myself with antroquoral, after the itch died down I managed a reasonable nights sleep but this morning when I woke my PMR was in overdrive, pains all over and hardly able to move, certainly not able to scratch.   Getting awfully sick of this!.

Three years ago I had red raw weeping itching rashes all over, except my face.  I tried everything, go, dermatologist, allergist - only steroids helped for a short while, then came back worse than ever when I stopped them.  Finally someone told me about Vega Test and I was told to avoid all citrus and yeast products.  Yeast moulds are on dates, grapes and strawberries, you cannot have alcohol , (only pure vodka!), avoid sugar because it feeds

the yeast, and no bread.  Also take a yeast-free live probiotic every day.  After 2 months of following this diet very strictly, I saw some improvement.  After 6 months I was almost rash free.

Now if I eat dates, I get a small itchy rash on my right instep.  I use Positon cream, which is really effective.

Hang in there. I know how you feel. Most of the time I have to have cold air or temps on me. Hot air causes my hives to worsen. I recommend Xolair. I have been on several different treatments and this has brought me the closest to remission.

Now on front of thighs, calves, forearms, the only place I don't have it now is my face; although, I do have sebhorea and that has certainly worsened since Uticaria presented itself.   The red seems to have faded - not the itch though.   I also notice it is much worse and tends to redden late in the day.  I've found I mostly just use sorbolene now, all the other treatments seem to have failed.    Specialist today for results of biopsy = hopefully some relief.

Biospy results, urtecarial eczema, now taking loratidine, using tricortone and visiting the ultraviolet boot three times a week. First visit today, told the nurse I was disapointed, expected to exit as a big bronze ANZAC, but all that came out was me, a small, pale, itchy man.

PLEASE READ - THIS WORKED FOR ME

Please try taking 1 antihistamine (like Zyrtec) AND 1 antacid daily. I had severe hives for two years following my hysterectomy. Sometimes my feet would swell so much that I had no arch and my skin would split. My hives were caused by pressure, stress, heat, you name it. Once I started taking both the antihistamine and the antacid together every morning, I stopped having hives after a couple of weeks.

From what I understand, those individuals with chronic urticaria need to block both the h1 histamines and the h2 histamines. H1 histamines are blocked by the allergy type of antihistamine and h2 histamines are blocked by antacids.

I took that combination for 9 years with great success. Zero issues with hives. Now, I don't have to take either.
