Spreading sunshine and positivity only!

hi all! I have been on this site for a year now, and have been reading some recent posts and noticed a lot of negativity. I just wanted to remind everyone we are all in this together, all connected by this sh*tty virus and we shouldn't be judging each but rather providing support and encouragement. We are not going to agree with everyone's lifestyle, but we can offer our opinions in the best spirits.

For those of you newly infected or still struggling to come terms with this virus this is my story. I am 25 years old and found out a year ago I have HSV2 when I had my first OB. I was crushed. Why me? After educating myself, and realizing that there was nothing I could do to change this except the way I chose to deal with it I felt much better. I am a healthy, smart, young woman with wonderful family and friends, that is what I focus on. The only thing HSV2 affects is my relationship with ONE person, and only ONE area of that relationship. Life is so much more! I know it may seem like the end of the world, but in the big scheme of it all,it really is a small detail.

Having herpes does not diminish your worth. You are who you've always been. Love yourself, and love each other. Positive thoughts will translate into a positive life! Keep Living!

Great note there, MRP, and I wholeheartedly agree. I was infected in 2011 and was suggested this site would be of help, and it has been, if only to put this H thing in perspective. We deal with things in our own way but it helps to learn and understand more when you hear how others deal with it. It is not the end of the world to have this issue but quite the opposite, it opens up new opportunities and a chance, dare I say, to meet others in the same situation. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved. Great note, thanks for putting it up.

    Here here.

I agree, sometimes i get so caught up in this cloud of negativity/stress/guilt/worry that I forget, firstly it isn't life threatening and secondly, if we use and look for the research and info available to us it is a managable (sometimes does its own thing) condition.

Also, we aren't alone, nor are we 'slutty', simply this was meant to happen so let's manage it as best we can.

Wonderful uplifting post. I was crushed when I found out but since I have no outbreaks now, I often forget I have it, and get a little upset when I remember. Definitely not the end of the world. The first year is the worst. I personally haven't had an ob since. Just be positive. I swear the stress and being upset makes the outbreaks more frequent, once I said ef it I don't care anymore it's not bringing me down, and actually felt that way, I stopped getting them. Good luck everyone. Hope you feel better and the ob's stop.
