Square 1 after a few good days

I think by now everyone is tired of me on this site. I had 3 really good days and nights this week, a tiny bit of underlying anxiety. Then the reverse happened. Instead of being anxious during the day and it lifting around 5, I've become anxious in the evening and sleeping isn't so easy. The other thing I noticed a few of you have mentioned is that choking feeling and loose bm's, and I'm nauseous.... Maybe I'm getting the flu, I'm sure that would be easier to get over. But I am now experiencing both of those. I feel like I'm starting over. In a few days it'll be 4 weeks on 20 mg, I think I see improvement, then something crops up. And on top of it, I'm so sleepy-tired. More so than just the waking up at night. I'm ready to give up on this medicine and go back to name brand Effexor XR.

    Hi ladies!!!

Sorry I am just posting after a day... going back to work and this medicine has been draining me..  I’m doing ok.. today I had a racing heart that scared me and now I feel panicking again.  I am taking Klonopin .25 twice daily along with my Lexapro..  i’m Just tired all the time.

Tammy- sorry about your sister.. I can tell you that as I was dealing with my anxiety my mom would actually not get in the phone at times with me or tell me to buy a new outfit.. I think when people don’t deal with it they don’t know how to handle it.. it’s not as simple as going shopping..

Lois Ann and Nickie.. hope you both are doing well.

Enjoy your weekend ladies.. I work on Saturday so that stinks..

    Love to you all xoxoxo

My granny used to say, "oh, it's my nerves". Or, "nerves control everything". She was so right. We just want answers to things, things to be fixed. And like Lois, going to the drs could be fear of finding out something is wrong, even if it's a well-visit. There's always that what if! Being nervous is way different than anxiety. Nervousness goes away. But being nervous only means that we acknowledge that we're about to step into uncertainty... Despite the outcome, and we still go!!! I'm willing to bet that it's because we're more optimistic than we give ourselves credit for.

My sister sent me a good morning text, and I responded. Just came back from the fish fry and honestly don't have the energy to go into with her.

Yes, the Lexapro made me very tired. I tried so hard to stay awake past 9. But even being so exhausted from just trying to function with the anxiety, I'd still wake up after 330-430....uggg.

Btw, I developed vertigo from picking up a quarter in the floor of my car.... It lasted 4 months. Had to go to the ENT doctor for that head postion treatment. It worked. But when I would roll over in bed when I had the vertigo, I swear the bed was floating around the room... That used to trigger an anxiety attack. Such a strange thing! Anyway, hang in there darlin', keep putting these days behind you! You're moving in the right direction!!!!

Most causes of vertigo are benign.....usually an inner ear condition which is why ent does certain techniques, to rebalance certain structures in the inner ear

And I can certainly understand how one can get anxiety from that abnormal sensation!

On my end.....having much better days since period ended 2 days ago....

Keeping track of my mood to see if I'm right; that my symptoms are hormonal

Wishing you ladies better days ahead

Hi Lois, if your cycle triggers your anxiety, then at least you have an advantage of how to prepare for the anxiety once it comes on. Triggers are triggers, but sometimes the anxiety just comes out of nowhere.

Yeah, my husband referred me to one of his colleagues.... Strange man, but he fixed the vertigo. Oh, it was horrible. So now I'm just cautious but to bend over fast.

We went out with friends last night had a few beers and tons of laughter. Wow, it felt so good to be out there being normal. Slept so good, too. No morning anxiety. Actually haven't had a lot of it since switching back to Effexor. Have a beautiful day ladies.

Ps. Did I tell you ladies my daughter bought me a light box? I use it every day! I think it really does help. On rainy days like today, I'll be in front of it! Go get one!!!

I'm so glad to hear Tammy!!!!

Yes, if it's truly hormonal, I can better prepare for it

My pcp suggest possibly increasing to 20mg during those days but I am doing ok on 10mg so will continue to monitor. Don't want to over medicate

Wishing u ladies a great weekend

I'm in New York in Hudson Valley....raining today but who cares, feeling sunny inside🌻

Hello Ladies... Hope all is well.. Had a no so good weekend .. Not all because of change in taking my Lexapro .. I'm taking 5mg. 2 times a day and adjusting well ....but found out on Sat. Evening a friend had passed away.. She thought she had pneumonia and her husband took her to hospital and found out she had cancer.. Slipped away quickly..not a good day on Sat. or Sun. But due to the shock of her untimely death..Having a Ok evening.. Just a little down .. My husband is out of town..You All Take Care... Praying You All Are Doing Well..🤗💞😇

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear that. That is such a shock to everyone in her life. I pray that they all find peace and comfort in each other.

So maybe the medicine is working for you? It's a sad time, but you didn't suffer any anxiety attacks, that's good.... Even with your husband it if town.

It's been 3 weeks on my new med. (Effexor). I feel better each day, no major flare ups. However, I've been up since 3, since 4 and finally got outta bed this morning at 5. No anxiety, just can't sleep. But the past few days I feel a little anxious, definitely manageable. I'll see how the next few weeks go on this dose. Hopefully I even out, but pretty confident that I will.

Have a great "Taco Tuesday".... I screwed up and made fajitas for dinner yesterday! 😒

      Ladies..

Tammy .. Sounds like you have Tummy wows from your dinner last evening..Hope you get over it quick..Great to hear you are doing well on your perferred med. time is the answer... Yes I suppose Lexapro is working as best it can be..I'm hoping I just need more time on the 10 mg. this is the 18th. Day of 10 mg. so I'll give it more time.. My aniexty as a whole is better but the only stress that I've been under is our grands and the death of Nora and I had aniexty on Sat. and Sun. But it was manageable not over the top and anyone would at that point.. It just didn't hang on for days like it would normally do.. So for that .. I'm Grateful..Praying the rest of you ladies are making progress.. Have a Terrific Tuesday.. 🤗💞😇

      Wonderful to hear

18 days is early so glad you're heading in right direction

I'm doing well too....8 weeks at 10mg tmrw

Noticed mild anxiety/dysphoria during luteal phase of cycle, improves significantly fter menses

If I continue to improve, will stay at 10mg

I read from a recent study that ppl on 20mg didn't have significant more side effects than ppl on lower dose and that 20mg works best for pmdd.

But if 10mg continues to work, I'll stop there

      Anyway, wishing y'all the best
