Squating - 7 months post FHR

Posted , 6 users are following.

I'm now 7 months post op FRHR and doing very well.  For the most part I don't hurt anymore and almost back to normal with my regular activities with the exception of just one major thing.  I love gardening.  Flower beds, vedgetables, etc..., but I'm finding that when I try to get back up from the squating position, I feel very weak and causes pain for a few minutes afterwards.  My question is for anyone who has reached this monthly milestone or beyond.  Do I need to do more strengthening exercises?

I won't go back to see my surgeon until the end of this month to ask him, so just wondering if anyone else might know the answer.

Thanks,

Kim

Hi Madla, It sounds as though exercise is the key to regaining that extra strength.  Glad to hear you are doing wellsmile  Thanks for your advice!

Hi number Kimberly. I am 4 months down the line and like you love gardening but have struggled coming up from squatting

strengthening exercises particularly lunges really does helps . I have a fitness coach who is putting me through my paces to build up glutes etc. Look on you tube and focus on such exercises. Hope this helps

Lunges are not focusing on your glutes as I'm a fitness instructor and lunges I do very well but I still have weakness, if it works for you then happy days. But you will find your quads are the muscles focused when lunging
