SSRI's been nightmare

Been taking SSRI's for 6 months, started with citalopram for intrusive thoughts caused by GP making me go cold turkey after taking zopiclone for 12 Years. Made my hair fall out, swapped to sertraline which was nightmare gave me awful OCD have keep checking things, so swapped back to citalopram. Everyone kept saying stick at it will improve but they have been awful made things so much worse than before I started them, so stopped after gradually weaning off then. Have read they should leave you body after a weekbut can be hard to come off, last 17 months after stopping the zopiclone have been awful no life, just wondered anyone else's experience of coming of these drugs will things eventually improve? My poor brain can't take any more chemicals
