Stabbed hand

Hi All,

Last Tuesday I managed to stab my hand with a steak knife with a lot of force so that the knife hit bones in the hand. I went to A&E where a nurse glued the cut and sent me home.

The knife went in half an inch below my small finger on my left hand. The outer side of my finger has been numb since, I’ve been told this is normal, however it feels as it has become more numb than a week ago.

I was told this is normal, however no real examination was done on the hand, I was in and out with the nurse in 7 mins.

Ive taken the dressing off today and the cut is clean looking, although it looks like a stitch would have been better.

Im just wondering what people’s thoughts are on this. I’m now worried this numbness is permanent.

Ive attached a pic for info.

Thanks in advance

shallow knife damage will not matter. If, however, your numbness is bothersome and will be repeated for a long time - it is necessary to make X-ray because the stumps could have been damaged
