Stable job helps mental health

I want to start a discussion on how stable job and healthy work environment helps mental health

I have schizophrenia and was on 6 mg risperidone when in my previous job. The job environment was unhealthy and unstable as was my mental health

I changed my job and it is very healthy and stable environment now as is my mental health

My doctor is thinking of reducing my risperidone to 2,5 mg

Has anyone else had similar experience

Truly a healthy job helps to have a good mental health because our body adapts the environment.

I agree to this...  I have a job now where I don't feel respected for my work and it does make me feel like there is something wrong with me.  I'm sure once I find something else, my outlook will be a whole lot better. A healthy work environment gives one something to look forward too-- I think.  We all need to work or do something for our mental health.

I worked in an Environment thirty years ago, Eventually in my case I was Retired out because of my Chronic Physical condition.

Your GP may be considering a new way of helping you, Life is full of changes, like you I was at an appointment a few days ago and they want to change one of my medications.

When we suffer a mental health condition we seem to be adverse to change. as my medication has not been changed for over fifteen years. The concern we have seems to be a fear of something new, this can be irrational, so we need to embrace the change and trust those who are looking after our health.

Try an open mind here like what I am doing, this can be difficult. Life is full of changes, sometimes we need to accept these changes and move on

    Good Luck
