stage 3 IGA

I am stage 3 with IGA. I am quite stable but terrible bouts of severe itching on my lower leg. It is driving me nuts and unable to sleep!!! Consultant advised it is caused by my condirion. Has anyone else experienced this and can the itching be stopped??

Yeah it is a symptom of the condition, i get it all the time however i have also found that in the cold weather i drive with the heater on max and aimed at my lower legs.  Recently i have changed the heater so that it comes out on the windscreen and it seems to be a lot better.  Not sure if it just seems better or its just me ;-)

"Not sure if it just seems better or its just me ;-)"  It doesn't really matter as long as it's better!biggrin  Good luck for it staying that way.

    Hi Karen

My Dad experienced it, it is related to you condition.

It happened when his creatinine level increased but went away when his creatinine level decreased.

Hi Karen, not sure if you are still monitoring this thread but I can attest to your "itching" difficulties.  What "solved" it for me was using a body cream eg. Vaseline aloe lotion, that kind of stuff.  As my creatinine numbers drop I use it not just on my legs but on my torso as well.  Really does the trick.

    Hope that helps!
