Hi Karen, I know the name Ckd sounds scary, but it's not necessarily life threatening. You don't give any real information. What have the doctors told you about the cyst? Have you just been diagnosed with both the ckd and cyst? If it's any reassurance I've been ata stable stage three since diagnosis 14 years ago,and it may well remain that way forever. Go back and get some real answers from your doctors.

    Hi,

Louise is right you can stay at a stage for ever and not change, why have you assumed you are going to die?? I am stage 5 end stage 9% GFR and I am not dead.  I feel better than I have in ages I am on dialysis and will have a transplant.  I know its scary when you first get told read up on it a bit, you may be at stage 3 due to the cyst things may improve again like Lousie said you don't give your full circumstances but please don't worry you are not going to die x

Hi. Did your doctor tell you what stage you were at? I know the diagnosis can be absolutely terrifying! my doctor came in the room and he told me like this: He said, you have stage 4 kidney disease and your GFR is 29. I remember being horrified. but let me tell you this, knowledge is power. Your not going to die. The more you know, the better you understand. Yes it is scarey. Yes there are things we have to go through. But you are not alone. and you can live fine and feel better even if you have to go on dialysis.most people I've talked to actually feel better on dialysis. Think of the positive. and please don't worry. you will not die.Try to stay on the positive side of things and with a positive outlook you will see things more clearly. and a positive outlook will help you get through what you need to do to feel better. if you ever want to talk I'm here for you. I wish you the best.
