stage4 prostate cancer

Hi there!

My hubby has stage4 prostate cancer that has progressed to his lymph nodes and he has 3 or 4 tumours in his vertebrae. And also a little cancer in his bone marrow.

We would just appreciate a little insight please. He has pain in his thighs, hips and back which has gradually got very painful since Xmas. Does anyone know perhaps why he's getting these severe pains particularly in his thighs and back that he can't sleep and struggling to walk and sit. Look forward to hearing from you?

I am very sorry to hear of your hubby's pain.

    What medications is he taking?

Is he satisfied with the care he is receiving from his oncologist? I ask because there is no shame in sacking someone you don't trust

and finding someone in whom you have confidence.

      Hi Barney

      Thank you for your replysmile

Carl wasn't happy with his oncologist and there wasn't much else they could do apart from chemo eventually and after lots of research we decided this isn't the way we wanted to go. The oncologist couldn't help us so we thought we're going to help ourselves with nothing to lose.

So we chose the alternative holistic approach because i'm not sure my hubby would be here if he had chemo which is a very personal choice.

We find the holistic helpers very sincere and very uplifting which has a massive impact in how we cope and recovery.

So at the moment he is following Dr Robert Morse's protocol on youtube and we have just got to stick with it best we can.

Sites like this are great too for helping each other and that's what we can all do with idea's etc.

So for now Barney please take care as best you can, we're all here for each otherbiggrin

yes, agree with what barney said.

i've had MDS bone marrow cancer for some time, finally went on Revlimid chemo, improved my HGB, slowly improving RBC. i have pains in my hips every morning, probably arthritis, hopefully not bone mets. weight management is the most important factor for me, got about 70 lbs more to lose, to reduce stress, improve overall health, etc. dunno hubby's info beyond what you've mentioned. PSA level? Gleason score? 4K ? MRI scan report? lesions? is he getting any kind of treatment? i'm heading for proton radiation in Loma Linda soon, after the bone scan in 5 days. good luck to you and hubby.
