Stapedectomy

surgery was done on 12 April 16 , heart beat in ear on my ten day, will it stop?

    I'm sorry, can you tell me what a Stapedectomy is? Thanks!!!

    Yes it will stop. This is very normal after a stapedectomy but if you are worried, phone your ENT.

    Yes, it will stop. I had it as well and I was terrified.... It went away after a few hours. Happened at night time. Had my surgery April 1st and it happened about two weeks later. 

    Went to see the surgeon yesterday to remove the packing and the vacuum that sucked the inserts out was just the weirdest thing. I thought I was going to faint. Anyway, I mentioned the heart beating thing and he said it was normal. Anyway, before that I could barely hear from my operated ear....after the package was removed I could hear much better. Still not apar with my right ear which is working fine but I could tell that I could hear. 

    So hang in there.

      A stapedectomy is a surgical procedure of the middle ear performed to improve hearing. If the stapes footplate is fixed in position, rather than being normally mobile, then a conductive hearing loss results. There are two major causes of stapes fixation.
