Start of knee replacement journey

Hi all

Well i had a total right knee replacement on Monday this week and got home on Wednesday... Good gracious i had my left one done 4 years ago but had forgotten how painful and draining the recovery is 🙄

Loads of pain relief and ice packs. So hard to do exercises as leg feels like a concrete block! Has anyone else had surgery recently? And how are you doing?

Hi Penny, I am 3 weeks post right tkr.

I had my left done 5 1/2 years ago and yes you do forget. I dont remember my other one being this bad.

This one is so heavy and I am finding physio so hard especially trying to bend. I had over 90 with my last one when i left hospital but with this one im only getting over 60.

You are still very early days so dont be hard on yourself just do the gentle exercises the hospital showed you and gett plenty of rest, meds and ice. xx
