Started a low dose of abilify along w Cymbalta

I take 20 mg of Cymbalta with little to no results, been about five weeks. My doc added 2 mg of abilify four days ago. I’ve been very jittery, heavy, foggy and dizzy head and some sleep issues. Ahhh-is this common start up effects? Will the get better in some time? My doc told me I should feel better in a week and really don’t feel anything yet. I’ll take fifth dose tonight.
Would love to hear from others on this combo.
Thanks!

I just tried Abilify and I couldn't tolerate the side effects. I already have bad anxiety and it seemed to make it worse. I couldn't sleep, very restless. My back hurt very bad and I had a hard time urinating. I am trying Vraylar now, I've took my first dose and I've felt jittery again. I hope this side effect subsides.

The SSRI's always worked well for my depression, a little less so for anxiety. I've been on Paxil for over 25 years, recently increased the dosage from 20 mg/day to 30 mg/day because my system had gotten used to it after that long and I had some stressful issues in the last year. Never had to use another drug to 'amplify' the Paxil.

Give it a few days and see what happens, mere. Postpartum depression is really a difficult issue for you new mothers. My niece had very bad postpartum after her 3rd child, she was nearly suicidal. They put her on SSRI meds (I'm not sure which one) and it helped her quite a bit.
I wish you the very best. Hang in there!

Yah-it’s terrible. I was on Zoloft before and really helped and this time-nadda. Hoping I feel better and it’s temporary and can eventually get off abilify, etc. glad your niece is feeling better. It’s scary how hormones can affect women!!!

Yup, you ladies fight some really tough battles with hormones. We men need to appreciate that more.
But, you WILL feel better. My niece is back to her usual obnoxious self and she had deep depression after her 3rd child. You'll feel better as well, give it time.

Thanks. I’m hoping things are on the up and up. I think abilify is helping but scares me to take this heavy duty med, I think it would only be semi short term though and stay w Cymbalta longer. Glad your niece is doing better!!
