I've been depressed for such a long time I started a new medication of sertraline 50mg about 2months ago my doctor slowly increased my dose I'm now on 200mg an feeling disillusioned in a world of my own just want to sleep to shut the whole world out .. I don't no if these are side effects of the increase of sertraline? I rang my doctor and they gave me an appointment I didn't go because I couldn't bear to go through the front door alone .. Im trying hard to take 1 day at a time and see if I start to feel any better but day 14 into my 200mg off sertraline is not giving me any justice to feeling any better at all.. any help or advice on this medication would be gratefully appreciated ..

Hi maria i just want to let you know that i am thesame as you. I have been on sertraline since 6th Jan and have been on 200 mg for 10 days. I have to say that my anxiety has gone through the roof this last 2 days. Im also on 160 mg Propanolol and promazine when needed. I am seeing my gp on monday and terrified in case i have to change meds. I keep thinking to give it another couple of weeks to make sure i have given it a chance to work. I really know what your going through with this horrible illness and hope you start feeling better soon .Remember your not alone and this forumm is a godsend even though it seems to take a while for a reply sometimes. Wishing you well soon x

Hi there. I too am on 200mgs and I think it took about 3 weeks to feel a bit of a difference. Only other advice I would give is to think about talking therapy if you haven't already. I think this has helped me more than pills. Good luck
