Started HRT and still awful exhaustion

Hey lovely ladies,

Just about two weeks on hrt, but, still so crazy tired/weak!!!

It has stopped hot flashes, helped incontinence, body aches and sleep is ok. But why still so tired!!?

I did have 5 days of bad sinus pain last week which gave me little to no sleep. I believe that was caused by the celexa I started taking at the same time of the HRT.

It's been a year and a half since menopause, and it has been nothing but a nightmare. Will it get better?

I am so discouraged.

      Me too

Debilitating back hip and rib pain

Cannot function just fed up work is just really hard to cope with right now

      I’m a carer

Been in peri ten years well was in menopause 13 months no period till I had surgery to remove half my thyroid in August

      Next day got a period

Had a scan and blood tests all ok

But no period again since August

I have just about had enough

I’ve got and had every symptom in the book

Really thought I was in the next phase but apparently the surgery stressed me out my blood pressure was high

      My heart rate was high

Doctor thinks my body was in shock which caused a bleed

So not sure if I’m still peri or full meno

One thing I do know these forums are a God send x

Hello, I only got the sinus pains a few days after being in celexa...10mg an evening. Before that my sinus pains were gone for two whole months. I had started using a bite guard at night as recommended by my ENT doctor.

I am so sorry you are having so many pains. I used to use curcumin for my body aches. It definitely helped me. My naturopath recommended that.

      Best of luck!

Hi, Dee, you probably need a multivitamin. I suggest you find a vegetarian source one for over 40 or 50 as it will tremendously help with fatigue.

    Hi dee28383,

What kind of HRT are you taking? Does it include progesterone? If you are taking progesterone what is the milligram? Some people can't tolerate too much progesterone, it can make you feel tired and weak if you have too much of it. I'm on 20 mg transdermal cream twice a day. I had a pill form of progesterone one time that was 100mg and I thought I was going to die. Made me feel like I had the flu and kept me down in bed all day. Weak and tired. So being you are having some success on HRT from hot flushes and getting some restful sleep I would look at your progesteone dosage if you are taking one and possibly lowering the dose.  My thoughts. Good luck.

I am on estrodot 50 ( the patch), twice a week, and progesterone 100mg every night at bedtime. I was very tired before taking these. I just wondered if in time, they will help improve the fatigue. It has only been two weeks.
