Started Lexapro for 3 days quit now want to restart

Last weekend I started Lexapro Friday, Sat, Sunday.  I quit because I could  not deal with the nausea and loss of appetite.  On Monday I started Amitriptyline.  I did that Mon, Tues, Wed.  No more I can deal with the side effects plus it is an older anti-depressant.  So now today is Thursday and I called my doctor.  I am still waiting to see if I can restart something like Lexapro or Celexa,  I will just have to deal with the nausea and all that until it passes.  My question is how quickly can I start if I took my last pill of the Amitriptyline last night?

    I would guess the doctor would want you to wait a day or two? I definitely wouldn't take any Lexapro until talking it over with him/her.

    The start up effects aren't fun, that's for sure. I'm on Day 16 of going up to 10 mg, and still feeling an increase in anxiety. I keep reminding myself that this is a slow process, unfortunately. I also tell myself that maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
