started on 50mg sertraline today as advised for depression

Although I don't feel depressed I've been advised to start taking these aswell as taking on some forms of counselling any help & advice on what to expect would be fantastic as I'm scared reading about the side effects

    Hi Susan,

    There are other reasons to treat with sertraline.  OCD, GAD, menstrual or menopausal symptoms.

    I’m on it for anxiety.

    All drugs have side effects but as long as the benefit outweighs the side effects it’s best to persevere.  At most they last a week or 2 and each day they lessen.

    I also sought counselling and now am following a great book that is an 8 week program.  Mindfulness in a frantic world.

    Started yoga too.

    There’s work to getting better it’s not just a quick fix that’s for sure!

      Thanx Tammy, I'm currently on hrt aswell as I've just started going through the menopause been on it for approx 3mths changing from 1mg to 2mg ellestte duet.....im now on a waiting list for counselling so hopefully things will get better soon xx

    Hi I as only on them 4 weeks and I didn't feel right on them I was getting headaches  feeling sick and not sleeping so I had to get a different type  but that's how I felt hopefully they work for you take care

    Day 4 & I feel tired & emotional, don't like myself at all, I hope these side effects subside quickly as I'm feeling more depressed than ever.....im judt glad I can log in on here, see how others are feeling....
