Although I don't feel depressed I've been advised to start taking these aswell as taking on some forms of counselling any help & advice on what to expect would be fantastic as I'm scared reading about the side effects

There are other reasons to treat with sertraline. OCD, GAD, menstrual or menopausal symptoms.
I’m on it for anxiety.
All drugs have side effects but as long as the benefit outweighs the side effects it’s best to persevere. At most they last a week or 2 and each day they lessen.
I also sought counselling and now am following a great book that is an 8 week program. Mindfulness in a frantic world.
Started yoga too.
There’s work to getting better it’s not just a quick fix that’s for sure!
Best wishes!
