started on gabapentin

Hi, I started on gabapentin 4 weeks ago and I am always feeling spaced out,I have also taken a few fits,is this the medication? I am also diagnosed as depressed and have bn feeling very low every day.has anyone experienced the same?

    Hi Sean

    You should not be taking "fits" with this medication. You need to see your doctor ASAP and discusse the issues you are having.

    As for depression; for me it did have some depressant effect, but as I was already on antidepressants it didn't become a huge problem (apart from sleeping all the time).

      Thanks for the advice,I have made an appointment for Thursday to see if I can more information from doctor as to why I'm having fits.

    I too got depressed from this med, except I listened to the psychiatrists advice. She advised me to increase the med which got me more depressed. She then added me onto more meds. The best thing that helped me was 5htp. Its not a prescription. Its herbal.

      When do you take the 5-htp; in the morning or evening? What dose do you find is effective? Thanks

      I take 3 gbt 100mg at a dose of 1am 1lunchtime +1 bed with mirtazipine. 5 mg diazepam twice a day -as and wen i need it. Some days dont take diazepam at all just depends on my needs tbh.

    No way Sean. This is NOT right. Gp asap is my suggestion as others have said.
