Started Sertraline 3 months ago due to having insomnia.

I was prescribed sertraline in2013 as I had really bad insomnia. The doctor didn’t have many answers so put me on sertraline. It worked fine and I slept majority of the time. I decided to come off it last year and reduced to 25mg. All went well until I stopped sleeping again and had some horrid withdrawals. I took 3 weeks off work and ended up going back on sertraline and all was good again. But now I’ve started with the insomnia again I just don’t get it? I also feel like there is something missing in my body and if I knew what it was I’d be able to source it and this would stop.
I’m so anxious as well now about not being able to go into work as they have told me I will have to be referred to occupational health.
I just want to sleep and know what the hell has happened here and how I can fix this before my life becomes nothing.
I have taken 25mg amitriptyline for many years due to constant chattering in my brian after my mother passed away. I am unable to come off these now and so rely on medication to function.. which is not good. When it goes wrong like now.
Can anyone please help
Feel so helpless and alone.

I have also been put on steraline and been on it a while now it hasn’t really helped with my sleep, I am on 100mg and would like to go down to 50mg but with three young children I am also worried about the Withdrawl.
I have also started therapy CBT and I do think that if I could just do the things asked it could help me.
Do u take any sleeping tablets try zopliclone from ur doctor as and when u need it.
I really do hope u get some sleep too I know what it’s like to be so sleep deprived.

You do not say your age. I am 58 and think the insomnia is menopause related. Have you tried the mindfulness approach? I find this has helped me. Do you suffer headaches? My own problem looks like a vestibular migraine cause as I have tinnitus and slight hearing loss.
That were your withdrawal symptoms? Could you still be suffering withdrawal?
