    Hi Pauline

I've been on Sertraline for 7 weeks now. It's horrible the first few weeks but once you get past this, things will improve. I had severe anxiety as a result of cancer last year, but I am so much better now. Things started to change around week 5.

    Hope this helps

Stick to it , it's gonna get better 2 weeks are way too early . For me it took from 6 to 8 weeks to feel slightly better on 50 mg and remember everyone is different .

I'm now on 100 mg and feeling better but not yet 100%

it's still early days yet for you, you need time to heal from that awful 4 weeks you've been through . get to 6 weeks then think about returning. really look after your self especially enough sleep is sooooo important.

That's the most sadest thing , is that people don't understand depression, they think it's an attention seeking ploy. but it's far far from it. plz try not to worry too much about others this is a time to focus on you. try and give your close friends and family information Web links about depression. or ask them to learn about it. you can't have this pressure of trying to make others understand right now as and you are not letting anyone down. plz plz just think of you at the moment . BTW you will get better , I know you don't see the light but you will I was the same. I still get a few random off days but on the whole I'm enjoying life again.

I'm always here to talk anytime.

Thankyou! It's sad because i've been trying to explain it to people for a while now and i guess the novelty of what i'm saying has worn off on people so tey dont take me as seriously as they did when i first opened up to them but what people dont understand is that i'm 'hurting' now just as much as the first time i spoke about it. Thank you for your reply as well i've been waiting for someone to say that to me for too long!

Michael, it is early days yet. I have been on sertraline for 4 weeks now and the side effects have ceased. I  work in a schooland I am going back after Easter (hopefully), but nobody understnds what you are going through unless they have suffered themselves. You are not letting anyone down. This is a time to think about youself and look after yourself. You must not be too hard on yourself. Treat yourself kindly. xx
