Hi,

I'm still on 50 mg, for 9 weeks now. After two weeks during which I could get no shuteye I started sleeping soundly and through the night. Two weeks ago I had a Blip and ever since then I always wake up at around 5 and can't get back to sleep unless I take half an victan 2mg and even then not well.. My depression, which was recovering well until then seems to be taking a turn for the worse.

Are these types of back and forth stages normal in the recovery of depression?

It sounds like you may need an increase. Best go to 75mg ..ask your doctor. You could also ask for some phenerghan to help you sleep. It's an anti histamine and won't leave you drowsy in the morning. Drink plenty of water and cut down on coffee especially at night time.

    Good luck

I like unicorns. I always wanted one as a child but my parents were too mean to buy me one. I had to make do with hamsters and rabbits!!

I'm ok...ish!! Feeling a bit weird , as usual, like I'm not real.( a bit like unicorns!) If you know what I mean. I think it's called de-personalization..light headed and weary. When I went up to 150mg I was great after a week or so ...90% my old self. But now I'm feeling a bit weird again. Maybe it's because I'm going back to work tomorrow night after being off for 8 months. I'm dreading it as I feel like I may faint. However I have never fainted in my life so it's just my bonkers brain telling me silly things!!

I hope you are feeling better and thanks for asking how I am.

      Keep up the fight!

No wonder you feel a bit bonkers if you are going back to work after 8 months, that’s a big step I would be feeling the same.  I have been off work 4 months and the thought of going back makes me ill.   I had a weird day today too, felt uncomfortable, you know when you don’t know why but it’s there lurking.  Then I took the dogs a walk tonight and felt so odd and dizzy the whole walk, I couldn’t wait to get home.   Bloody anxiety! I let you know how I get on. I'm thinking I need to get back to work to get me out of the mad house I live in. But to be honest I'm brickin' it. I work nights and was burnt out. Going back 2 nights a week at first to see how it goes --- wish me luck

Hi Domingo.   I think it’s all part of it.  I’m going through the same just now and it’s frustrating.  I am tired and I sleep but I keep waking every 2 hours or so. I normally sleep like a log so I do think it’s the activating part of sertraline.   The annoying thing is that when you don’t sleep well your mood is lower and anxiety is higher which is a bummer.  I’m laying on my sofa just now with heavy eyes but my body just won’t let me sleep. Grrrr.   I’m almost 7 weeks.

I have the same issue with sleep. It takes me a while before I actually fall asleep but then I wake up every couple hours. I’m between that time I am tossing and turning. I’m 8 weeks today. I upped my dose to 75mg on Wednesday because I was having rebound anxiety.  After the first day of increase, the anxiety dissipated. Hoping to get better sleep soon. I am exhausted everyday. My sons grad party is next Saturday and I hope not to be a walking zombie. Lol
