Started to lose hairs for the past few weeks!!! Help Please!

So I got a haircut around the beginning of February, and within the same week I also purchased Old Spice Unruly hair paste. For the following week and a half I used the hair paste daily (only on weekdays). I kept noticing that when I applied the paste, maybe 3-4 strands of my hair would come out since the paste was sticky, so on the Wednesday of that week I discontinued the use of the product. On Thursday morning I got up and used Pantene shampoo to rinse out all the paste out of my hair and I immediately noticed my hair felt very different, like I never felt before. Friday rolls around and I'm losing hairs, but I blow it off. Saturday is when I started to freak out and I took a shower and used some Head and Shoulders, and literally 30+ strands came out, and the strands were very thin, almost baby hair-like. Ever since then my hair's been thin, and I also noticed my eyebrows and eyelashes thinned out aswell. I've been to the doctors and got a blood test (everything was fine) and he said it must be hereditary but I highly doubt him. He booked me in for an appointment with a dermatologist for the 28th of April, but I'm still stressed out and still losing hairs. My hair has still been growing but it's a lot thinner than what it used to be like, and the hairs have become weak and wavy, also kind of dry. I've also started producing a lot of sebum, and my scalp itches a lot, and also hurts when I sweat. Does anyone know what's wrong with my hair???? (I know that the hair paste is what screwed up everything, but please I need advice, it's really stressing me out and I don't know what to do)

This sounds so distressing.  I do know that my own hair has changed as I have aged.  It has always been fine and still is, but now that it is almost all silver (not grey!) except low down at the back, it is less manageable than it once was.  But I am sorry to say that I have no idea what to suggest except to say that I have started to take zinc which a chemist friend of mine says helps with hair problems.

I do not know. I have given up dying my hair as I think it did not do it any good and I got used to the idea of being silver as it suited my wrinkles!  I don't think it thinned my hair but the dye always turned a nasty colour in the end. Modern dye does seem to make hair look quite healthy but once you begin you have to keep it up.
