I've become sick when I was in Thailand March last year too, haha. For me, it started with a bacterial infection or food poisoning; still not sure. Shortly after this, I contracted EBV, or it reactivated. Also not sure about that, as I didn't test for EBV before this. But yes, I get the muscle twitching as well.

So I'm over a year sick continually, but I feel like it's very slowly getting better, although it comes in waves and with setbacks for me. What helps me is: a structured routine (get up at the same time every day, between 7-8 AM), eat at the same time, (almost) no alcohol, get enough hours of sleep, maybe taking supplements and gradually increasing activity (yoga, walking, riding bicycle etc.), but not overdoing it. But maybe the most important one: keep your hopes up. I think this is partly also a mental thing: if you lose hope of getting better, you'll get stuck in a vicious cycle of being depressed (which exacerbates your pain), hyper-focusing on your symptoms and getting more depressed again.
For the last 1-2 months I'm having more medium or medium/good days than real bad days, so that's a win already. But like many have said, it's a sprint, not a marathon. And it differs per individual what's best for you and how long it's going to take. Wishing you all the best!
