Started with shingles now have Prurigo Nodularis

I'm sorry I haven't been here for a while, I have been diagnosed with prurigo Nodularis Disease. I healed from the shingles thank goodness!

I saw two dermatologist and they told me I had PN. They didn't and wouldn't do a biopsy and both were nasty and short tempered. I still have some open wounds and they make me feel so ugly so I don't want to go anywhere.

These sites I have don't itch or hurt they just don't heal. Anyone else with the same thing?

    Samantha,

I do not have Prurigo nodularis, but have seen it in patients. As you are at risk for being immunocompromised, due to Herpes Zoster and now this, I would ask your primary for the name of a better dermatologist. As you know, it needs to be cultured and biopsied.

Thank you Merry, your right! I hope my Rheumatologist will make things happen sooner. It's funny because I'm trying to get better so I can go back to work. I'm not getting younger. Not thinking clear as I didn't sleep last night.

      Be well and thank you!

I haven't had this but I certainly sympathize with you.  It sounds awful!  I'm surprised that the doctor(s) did not do a biopsy.  I hope you can find a physician with more empathy who will help you.

Hi Betty, I hope a biopsy will be done soon. Not many doctors take my insurance so I end up with poor health care.
