hi! so I've been on sertraline now for 9 days, first 7 days 25mg and last 2 days 50mg.. just wondering what side effects people experienced? is it common to feel them this soon and how long did they last?

Hello! yes you get the side effects straight away.. they usually ease after a couple of weeks.. some people get more side effects than others but its totally normal to have no appitite, feel sick, feel more anxious, have tremmors.. you name it, the possible side effects are endless! it can take 12 weeks for you to level on the dose, so stick with it! It gets much better!

I'm definitely willing to stick with it, I'll put up with side effects if it means squashing my health anxiety and all these physical symptoms. it's the worst thing. thank you x

perfectly normal, although scary and not nice I know, I was like this as a whole with my anxiety and every morning my anxiety was horrendous and got worse on the tablets, however I'm about to enter week 4 on Friday, I'm now up to 75mg and honestly I haven't felt this great in months!! I'm not 100% yet, far from it but I'm definitely getting there. stick with it 😃

I personally haven't had that, but I have heard of others who have, it's quite common apparently.

hi, i feel for you. I have currently been on sertraline for 5and a half years. 5 weeks ago i had a huge setback due to horrendous life changes and put my sertraline upto 75mg after 4ish weeks with little improvement i got put upto 100mg, for the first 5 days i felt better not completely but i could see light at tge end of tge tunnel, but last night and today ive felt awful again. Its so disheartening as i really thought i was getting somewhere. I hope its just side effects from upping and hope to feel better soon. One day at a time! Even one hour at a time! mornings are always worst for me too and i hope to feel better soon, sertraline has always worked for me although i do get terrible start up effects, and when i upped dosage to 75mg 5 weeks ago it was like starting up all over again. I just hope im not going through all that again now i have upped my dose.

e i hope you can help, i started sertraline in 2014 with 25 mg a week after 50 and a week after 100 i was on this for about 3 years but in 2018 and 2019 i started taking it every other day 100 mg sometimes 125 mg , I couldn't remember the sideeffects at that time. but a week ago i started myself taking 150 mg everyday and day 2 the anxiety comes with full strength i felt really bad i was scared and sad, obsessive, it feels like the first time i got ptsd from a trauma in my childhood. but things got a little better here 10 days after? but i am afraid If im not return as before? is that usually what happens and should I give it time? thanks

hi, yeah tgat is what happens, i would definetely give it more time. the side effects last for a few weeks and you defo get worse before you get better. hold on and youll get there, you will be yourself again you just have to be patient, i know how hard that is and its a scary lonely place but it will get better. im here to chat if you need to

    How are you feeling now?

hopefully it is just side effects for you, and apparently well known to increase anxiety when upping. I'm feeling so so much better! I'm now up to 75mg, been on that dose for 9 days but on the tablets for just over 4 weeks, I had side effects at the start but they went within about a week. I'm now on day 9 of starting to feel like me again when before that I really never thought I'd be me again! long road ahead yet but very glad I started these tablets

it certainly isnt nice at all, I just have extremely bad health anxiety so I keep getting some horrible symptoms and my body giving me symptoms when I'm scared of something particular. its the worst thing ever but alot of them have gone away since feeling better so I find that reassuring.
