Starting 40mg, need abit of encouragement

Not too worried about the side effects of increasing my dose.

Been on 30mg for five weeks so the doctor suggested either trying the 40 or switching altogether so I figured I’d at least try to 40 first since these pills did work for me so well the in the past. Never had to go as high as 40 tho.

I’ve been having highs and lows on the 30’s. Like for a minute I feel ok, then I get right back down and hopeless. Hoping the 40’s will stabilize this.

Anyone else have success from increasing to this dose?

obviously you are not going to feel anything in 5 weeks you have not given enough time for the dose to stabilize at least 8 weeks are needed. particulary if you are on this medication second time round it takes way longer. i reckon its a general practitioner and not a psychiatrist that is suggesting to increase or switch. if you do that you might end up in a never ending spiral of finding the 'right' medication and putting your nervous system through an unnecessary rollercoaster. if it worked the first time round it will work again but will need more time, like wayy more time to stabilize. Keep up with it for a bit longer and you will see results. increasing might just put you through unnecessary pain when if you just wait a bit longer you can recover on 30mg again. you will be good.

I’m usually lowering my dose March-April because I don’t need to be on such a high dose then. My anxiety and depression is worse this time of year, just way worse this time around which is why the doctor thinks I may need to go up to 40 this time.

I’ve already took the 40 today so I’m going to stick with it for at least a month or two.

I never experienced side effects going up to 30 from 20 so hopefully this time will be the same. I’m just worried it won’t work at all.

    lala is 100 percent right

it takes way longer than 5 weeks

8-12 is more reasonable and even then you might be up and down for longer than that x

5 weeks in I'm still at the worse before better stage it's no where near long enough.

whatever the doc said in weeks to feel better change it to months and you will be closer to how long it will actually take to be back to normal x 😊
