Starting Citalopram

I have just started taking 10 mg of citalopram a couple days ago. I'm taking it for GAD and health anxiety. Ive tried to learn as much as I can about it but of course the internet is never perfectly clear. I've read that it can make you more anxious in the beginning, which I have been noticing a bit, but Ive also been experiencing like leg pain and arm pain that will come and go and I'm just unsure if its the anxiety from taking it (I would get mild pains from anxiety before), or if its something to worry about?? just wondering if anyone else had anything similar and what else I should expect while starting out on this.

The leg pain and arm pain are probably from anxiety. It makes sense that having increased anxiety (either as a side effect from starting the med, or because you are more anxious about starting it) would bring out symptoms of anxiety you've had in the past :-).

Hello goldfish312 I've had issues with pain coming and going. Usually it has to with muscle tension from anxiety. Tomorrow I'm approaching my 5th week on reinstating my Citalopram at 10mg. The first week I had bad nausea and dizziness, some over the counter motion sickness medication helped me (Bonine). At this point thats all disappeared. Anxiety is still lingering especially in the morning but comes and goes, I just find ways to keep my mind focus. Anxiety can play tricks on you but everything is fine. The one thing that's really bugging me is that I keep waking up at 5am or 6am every morning. Despite everything I've noticed a few positive outcomes. Just keep at it!

Thank you! Its very comforting to hear other people going through something very similar! I've also been waking up around those times and not being able to fall back asleep. I found that listening to a sleep music video or something really helps me.
