hi all im due to start fluoxetine 20mg tomorrow im nervous ive been on sertraline 50mg for early a year it helped to begin woth but now my anxiety and depression are getting worse so what have i to expect or maybe not expect with sertraline i was ill with side effects for the first 8 weeks it was awful praying i dont get the same with fluoxetine any advice is appriciated xxxx

Is there any way you could start at 10mg instead of 20? Prozac can have some rather irritating side effects the first 6-8 weeks or so for some people.....Its a good drug if you can get through the first few months of the side effects, but ask your Dr if you could start with 10 instead of 20.

hey claire, i just started week 7 on prozac after my lexapro stopped working. i did not have many side effects with prozac other than possibly loss of appetite, but that might not have been the meds. i hooe you do well and have minimal to no side effects. i can tell you it takes a long time to work. i saw some nice improvement in weeks 3-5, but then it slowed down and im waiting for my next wave of improvement. sending good vibes your way!
