Starting my weaning off journey with Bisoprolol

hi guys, im 30 years old and have been on 2.5mg bisoprolol for 10+ years over 1 episode i had, really rapid heart rate after smoking some marijuana, i was bed ridden and terrified to get out of bed because my heart was beating so fast i would almost pass out. that last about a week until i got put on Bisoprolol.

i have been pretty good since then with this terrible drug bisoprolol and i recently have been approved to get off it(finaly) i also have no heart issues whatsoever i have been told by the cardiologist. Now the crazy part is that i dont understand how cardiologist do not have a clue how bad this drug affects people when they are coming off it, they litterally told me to just get off of it completely that i wouldnt need to wean..,.(holy crap)

i knew that wasnt going to happen being that i have tried  weaning off this drug before with litterally no success! the effects i get from a tiny bit of cutting the pill by a 10th was horrible. For me it would raise my cortisol levels at night causing extreme panic.. like i thought i was for sure dead waking up at 3:30am !!!! This was litterally happening for months with no explanation and countless visits to the ER. After researching this drug and months later i finally figured the pill was the cause of high cortisol spikes at night/extreme panic attacks so i made sure my doses were exactly 2.5mg. Before i was just hoping to get the right cut by eye but of course that wasnt the case.

Does anyone have any suggestions on weaning off Bisoprolol? How is life after getting off the drug? anything i should worry about? I go to the gym 4 times a week and notice the cortisol spikes at night get worse if i try weaning and still hit the gym. Im hoping to get off this pill completely sometime in 2018, i will be starting the wean jan 1st of the new year so im excited and scared at the same time and really would like some guidance. Oh yea i take Holy basil for the high cortisol at night which really makes a difference, thought id throw that out there in case anyone was going through the same thing!

anything would help

thanks

    Hi everyone

I'm 17 and my doctor gave me bisoprolol 2,5 mg and Xanax retard for my anxiety.

Ever since i took this bisoprolol it gave me weird heart palpitations and shortness of breath paired with chest pressure.

After seeing that the drug also made me lose my hair i went cold turkey for a week. Yesterday i went to a party with my friends and i have never ever ever felt so bad in my life. My heart rate was 120 from just walking around. And now even when i'm sitting down its 90. It's causing me severe anxiety because nobody ever warned me that this drug would be so detrimental to my well being. As a 17 year old that is already experiencing major BPM and a high BP i feel really deceived right now. I really hope i'm able to get off of this horrible horrible drug. Can anyone give me advice?

yes I'm weaning off. I don't understand this medicine. the past 2 weeks mainly I have dizziness, lethargic feeling, feeling like I'm going to pass out. it's been happening here and there for 3 years, now only 2 weeks straight. I went 48 hours, no meds, I finally took 1.25 before bed last night.

The doctor prescribed me Bisoprolol 5mg two pills a day for two to three weeks, then I started weaning a little until it stopped completely after less than two months and the symptoms began to appear. Less but still. Three months since I stopped taking this evil drug, the secret heartbeat and dizziness have gone away, but I still have a sore throat, suffocation, frequent swallowing, difficulty swallowing, and the ringing in the ears, but it became lighter, and when I asked the doctor, he told me it has nothing to do with this drug. I suffer from anxiety with Knowing that I did not suffer from such symptoms in my life until after I used Bisoprolol and stopped it. I am much better, but anxiety always accompanies me. As for pain when swallowing or pressure on the ears, but according to what I read here, I am not the only one. Almost everyone suffers from the same symptoms, and this is somewhat reassuring. I hope whoever found a cure that speeds up the withdrawal process will help us and everyone's safety

new to this forum. I've been trying to ween off 2.5 mg biso for about 2 months now. im down to about .5 mg or so. ive been weighing it on my scale everyday.

the last week or two have been rather nightmarish. physical and mental anxiety. i want to just cut if off completely at this point instead of this ongoing struggle.

i have valium, but never wanted to mix the two. if i quit the biso, has anyone ever used valium to help calm the nerves???

crazy how such a small amount can cause this much trouble. i hate it. and i had only been taking it for 6 months.

hello, is anyone still active on this forum? i plan on stopping Bisoprolol soon. as i do not want to rely on this medication forever.

    i am on 5mg. 2.5 morning and 2.5 night.

i have inappropriate sinus tachycardia but its not too severe.

before i started Bisoprolol in January my resting heart rate was between 90-101. whilst on Bisoprolol my Resting HR is 80. a couple of weeks ago i stopped taking it (weaning off over a couple weeks)

my heart rate has never been so high! i thought i was going to die and couldn't stop shaking with fear.

am i going to have to stay on this forever? i feel hopeless and don't know what to do đŸ˜¦
