Starting on sertraline

Hi I'm on mirtazipine and was also prescribed sertraline 11 days ago 50mg, did anyone else find there anxiety increased when first starting sertraline? I'm due to up my doze on Thursday to 100mg and hopefully will feel better, I'm on these meds for anxiety and panic attacks ! Many thanks

    yes it will increase off and on for a month or so.  hang in there i promise it gets better

      Thanks for that Chris, thought it maybe wasn't suiting me but will keep going with it now, just want to feel relaxed and my mind to stop racing

    yes it certainly does increase it quite a lot , but it will pass, only increase if ur not better by 6 weeks I would say. x

      I was told by the psychatrist I saw to increase to 100mg after 2 weeks x

    hang in there.  it's hard.  i take 150mgs.  I was taking 100mg for 12 years with no problems at all but stupidly tried to quit and ended up in a funk that really shook me.  i then increased to 150mg and it took about 6 weeks to really start feeling a lot better.  hang in there

      Thanks Chris , did u find you stopped worrying as much aswell cos my brain feels scrambled and I analaize everything before I do it which drives me mad lol x

    Yes I would have to agree it gave me increased anxiety on and off up to week 3. But it eventually goes away. My doctor gave me Xanax for emergencies until the Zoloft leveled out in my system.

      Yes I'm on diazepam at the minute aswell!! The mornings I find are horrendous but just feel on edge all the time
