dear friends -

here is an update on my situation ... so I have moved and am pretty happy with this little bungalow - surrounded by trees in an official bungalow park -

this whole packing, making boxes etc. was physically very taxing on my body - it was not much but still had to be done - okay, too bad that I had no help - it just was that way - circumstances, too busy, holidays etc ... friends did help to actually move me - loaded the boxes in their van and unloaded them as well -

these last couple of day I am really in pain ... the operated hip has this burning sensation underneath the sacr, I think I can feel the rod in my thigh, which is very tender when I touch it ... it is a pulsing sensation going down to my knee - oh my poor knees !!!

Unoperated leg ? well, the OA gnawing pain, shooting down and feeling weak ... and the groin !!!!

I know I overdid things - had no choice really - the bending, picking up and lifting -- reaching is something else too ...

This a no-car park, except for Fridays and Mondays - it takes me a good 10 minutes to get to my car - a good thing really - except when it rains - I am using my 4 wheel walker again ...

My next appointment is August 28 ... Now I am getting worried if I will be fit enough to get the 2nd THR ...

Thank you all for your support and encouragement -

Lovingly embracing you all

renee

P.S. that is my cat Koko ... Unfortunately I couldn't bring her with me from Los Angeles to Holland but she is with a very loving friend ---

Oh Renee what are we going to do with you, you have done so much more than you shouldhave done.....you really have to put your feet up and have a couple or more duvet days with ice-packs to give your hips and legs a rest..... I agree that the 10 ninutes walk to your car is good when your not feeling so tired and in pain, Find a good book and REST (((((hugs))))) Love Gill xxxx

Renee you are a truly amazing person. I am sure others will agree with me and wish we could help you get settled in your new home. You have done too much so be kind to yourself and rest as much as possible; the boxes won't come to any harm if you leave them for a little while. ( Just as long as you don't fall over them.)

    Hugs from Hazel and Derek

It's a big thing to start over... Especially if you have to leave your furry friend behind thankfully you know she will be well looked after. You've certainly accomplished a lot and I hope you enjoy your bungalow but as Gill said in her post time for you now to put your feet up and rest a little after all that work. I wish you well Renee you've given much encouragement and support on this forum. I hope things go well at your appointment on 28 August. Take care xx

    Deaest Renee

Hey, you did what you had to do, but now you have got the basics in place, you must rest, even if just for an hour or so, maybe do a bit more and then rest again. You must take it easy or you will be fit for nothing. You are the most important thing in this equation so do listen to your body - it's telling you to slow up.

I overdid it yesterday, too much unaided walking and driving and do I know it today! We all think we can do more than we should.

Love your pussy cat picture - I am a cat lover too, but just have one elderly cat now - she is Part Siamese and is called Daisy. She is very deaf and has arthritis too - it even catches up with the animals too!

Hope you have a restful day and do take your meds to help with that pain

    All good wishes to you

    Linda xx

    Good Morning renee

Poor you. I can totally understand the pain you must be in having the same problem with my un operated hip as you know.

I really do feel for you. I really would not wait till the end of the month. I would phone and say you are in pain and not sure if you have done some damage, If you leave it you may be in a worse position. I know you were forced to do what you have had toi do and make sure you explain this to your surgeon. If there is nothihng wrong and all you need is to rest up you have 2 wseeks to do so. but as you are in so much pain I really would contact your surgeon just to be on the safe side. Y7ou can't go on struggling renee it is not fair on yourself.

I really hope it is just a case of doing too much as you say. I would try taking 400mg of ibupraphen if you can and see if that helps.

    (((( Hugs ))))

thank you - I know ... I just need to let it all be ... make this home my place is what I am eager to do ... doesn't look like it yet because of all the unpacked boxes - and it is a furnished bungalow (not totally my taste but hey, I can deal with it ) -

Koko is an old lady of, I guess, 16-17 years - she was left behind 5 years ago - she is a dark brown, velvet, big mama and the most laid back cat I ever had ... I miss her -

have a wonderful day - and thank you so much --- it means a lot to me - you all mean a lot to me

Renee, you have been such a support to everyone hereand I sending blessings on your new home. Those boxes will wait although I suspect like many of us you will be doing a little more than you should. I won't say take it easy but will say alternate being busy and resting. You are going to be a long time in the new house so take your time.

My own healing seems to be two steps forward and one step back but always moving forward!!!

pee ess - I have my Owen, a huge black cat of 12 years - a perfect witches cat!!!

HI Renee sounds like you are in, and with all those boxes to unpack too, I would cover them up with some mats, put a lid on them to stop you overdoing it, this moving in has to be done little and often, id you are on your own, and you need to put in some mind joggers that you have placed sensibly in place as a control to govern how much you do when you do it.

I have been overdoing it, we all overdo it, as there are things to get done, and having no hip pains or limps, we forget just how bad it was, I have a nice B+W 16X20 print to pick up from the Post Office, and I need a Haircut, have to put them off because I have been on three long walks picking stuff up from the supermarket, as Sandy is too frail now to really help like that, so it falls on my shoulders, through my backpack...But I am resting today, will do all of that tomorrow.

Today I must rest, my new hip, left leg is hurting all the way down, and can feel it in my right side too, so it is a day of Swamp People, Deadliest Catch, Ultimate Airport, Benefits Cheats, and a sleep and a read and then an early night, I want that pic on the Kitchen wall right where the light from the window will set it off against the plain yellow wall.

Will post it here and a couple more, it is the shot from the lakes not the stormy shot I have got from Shutterfly, just for the cost of the postage, and the frame from Wilcos for £8.

Not too much space in our flat left now but there is some to fill.

The 28th is a long way off still, so pace yourself Renee and you will get there in fine shape

    Kindest regards Ian.

      Hi Ian ...

so sorry to hear about Sandy ...

thank you for your kind words and reminders ... amazing how we do that - looking at things that still need to be done instead of what we have accomplished ...

I am going to my now comfy and ample bed and listen to healing cd -

Ian, so you too are a Dealiest Catch fan. I had to laugh at the last show that showed a deckhand who had a knee replacment and his patella popped out. Wha twas he thinking would happen in 20 ft. sea's. I digress from the subject though. Overdoing it certainly does all of us in. My knee on THR side is so sore now it is hard to walk, would appreciate any comments  to help me out.

      Regards

We all try to cope with what's thrown at us and so do too much at times. It's especially hard whe you're trying to create a new home.Try to take it slowly and be extra kind to yourself. You're going to love this place soon! Sending pain free thoughts. XXX
