Hello I am due for 37 radio therapy treatments starting at Preston on the 1st of October , my PC is stage T3b I am 62 years old,and I am due for a 3 month injection of Leuporelin HT which I am already on,the only side effects I seem to be getting is I become extremely tired in the afternoon upon which I go to bed,my doctors have stated that they aim to cure the cancer with RT&HT therapy,I was sceptical at first and feared the worst (cancer spreading etc, etc) any one got any thoughts on the prognosis of my particular case? Thanks in advance for any replies, best regards Peter T.

    Hi Peter

I completed my RT 18 months ago and now on yearly checkups with Oncologist. Like you, I had T3b. PSA remains at Zero.

You will no doubt have been given the times for drinking and enema procedure, once you are into the routine it all goes like clockwork. Also helps to chat to the other patients at different stages of treatment when waiting for your turn.

Now all ok, my history on thread 'Prostate Cancer', 'Decisions Decisions Prostate Cancer'.

Many thanks for your reply supercargo,I suppose at first when I was diagnosed from the bi-opsy I had no idea re prostate cancer ,treatment , future outlook etc, just heard that nasty word cancer and thought the worst ,until  i was educated on the treatments available by my team of medics& specialist nurse, trying to think on a positive note now at least it has been detected due to a trip to my GP last July for a tract infection on bladder and uretha, they found my PSA at 38.05 gleason score 3+4=7 ,intermediate growth ,so I am due for 2 years I think of hormone therapy which involves 3 monthly injections of 11.25 milligrammes of Leuporelin after the Radio therapy is finished,so from what I have learned from others like yourself my predicament is nowhere  near as bad as I first thought due to my ignorance of this particular disease of the prostate gland, again many thanks for your reply it has eased my mind a good bit more, regards Peter T.
