Starting venlafaxine...

Hi everyone,

The Dr has prescribed me 75mg slow release venladex for anxiety & anxiety related migraines...

I currently take 40-80mg of propranolol before bed every night & am wondering when would be the best time to take the venladex? I’m a nurse so work 14 hour shifts & cant really do not sleeping (unless on a night shift of course!) and am worried about the side affects affecting my work?

Sorry for the rambling post but after trying the following & having no luck at all;

Sertraline

Nortriptaline

Amitriptaline

Gabapentin

Pregablin

These are apparently the best thing for me! Just so hestitate to start yet another tablet & have weeks of hell! Also...I’ve read that some people suffer with weight gain/loss...I’ve found most of the others made me put weight on & as much as I’d love an anxiety free day...my weight is already a battle I’m losing without adding to the pounds!

Any advice appreciated!

    I was told to take my Ven 225mg in the morning but I have to say they personally make me a bit drowsy so would've preferred to take at night.  Am also on Lamotrigine though so that would have an effect too.

    As to weight, I find it hard to shift, certainly not losing any but not excessive gain either...

    Sorry to be so unhelpful LOL!
