hello, my name is Denise. I was tested positive for Hsv-1 and my value was 38. Someone on here told me that it could've come from a past infection. I don't want to give out the wrong info but maybe yours could have been a past infection too

any oral sex?
did you know you had HSV? past coldsores?
any symptoms?
I dont think the level of Igg reflects old or new, although i read somewhere that high is likely an old infection but no science behind this.

A higher number (index value) on an IgG indicates older infection.

Not likely no. Lots of people have HSV1 without symptoms and find out upon testing.
