STD'S

Posted , 1 user is following.

I didn't know that there were more strains of HPV. the strain I have is the cancer that keeps coming back. I've had more surgeries than I can count, but it doesn't matter it still comes back. I've had 2 partial hysterectomies, 2 partial vulvectomie, lazor, laser, freezing, acid, and them scraping the off.

The scars aren't pretty. I need to know why it keeps coming back. I've got very little things down there that are left and I don't want sex. It looks so different and it's humiliating. I am curious, if I get the vaccine will it help or is it hopeless

    Dear tammie,

Very sorry to hear what you've gone through. Vaccination has been advocated as adjunctive treatment to control persistent cervical abnormalities caused by the oncogenic HPVs. Strictly speaking, it is not licensed for use for this indication. But some gynaecologists have advocated its use in these situations when nothing else has worked. It's a safe product but there's no guarantee it will be effective at controlling your disease. Your gynaecologist should be in the best position to discuss the pros and cons with you as they would know the type and severity of your disease, and obviously they think it's worth a try.

If you do decide to go ahead, request the latest product (Gardasil-9).

    Rgds,

    Adhari
