Steadily worsening cognitive slowing (Bradyphrenia) for 4.5 years, losing hope.

Hi. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could cause sudden bradyphrenia (progressive slowing of thoughts and processing speed, leading to apathy/anhedonia as it worsens)? Particularly in a young person (I'm currently 26) with no health issues prior to the illness?

What I have is very different from your typical "brain fog" which for most people will generally come and go (good days/bad days) and can be helped somewhat by taking or avoiding certain foods, suppliments etc.

My brain symptoms on the other hand have just been a continuous, perminent deterioration since it started and almost seems like some sort of degenerative brain condition that will only keep getting worse untill I either die from it or find some way of treating it. I've had this now for 4.5 years, is basically the main symptom of my illness and it started suddenly overnight along with some sort of flu-like bug or virus I caught back in June 2016. The onset was so sudden and severe that I failed a college course that I was 5 days away from completing. I've since then not been able to work, currently on benefits, have given up nearly all my hobbies and nearly all my time is now spent on the internet looking for answers.

While my illness started off just with these lingering bradyphrenia symptoms I speak of after the bug/virus cleared up, it has since progressed and other symptoms have slowly set in over the years including various heart arrhythmias (sudden SVT attacks and bigeminy), insomnia, vision field loss, bloated/distended abdomen, tinnitus, rapid weight loss and muscle waste (more recent symptom), weakness , clumsiness and trembling in muscles, getting out of breath easily and a bunch of horrible feelings and pains in my head (my brain seems to physically hurt and strain whenever I try to think). And again, all these symptoms are constant and have only gotten worse over the years.

Nothing I've tried in the past years in terms of diet, suppliments, exercise, avoiding stress etc has had any effect on my illness at all and it just gradually worsens regardless of what I try. I will also add however that most things I've tried in the past are geared towards helping brain fog which doesn't appear to be what I'm actually suffering from. This leads me to wonder what this really is and what kind of treatment I would need for it.

Does anyone here have any idea what could cause a condition like this and if there's any hope of it being treatable? The only thing I can think of at the moment is either a thyroid problem (T3) or an infection that's got into my brain, parhaps causing an autoimmune issue of some kind. I just hope I manage to find some answers soon.
