Stemi-left ventricular mural thrombus- blockage in left anterior descending coronary artery

Hello, I had a heart attack at the end of 2015 but I didn't call for an ambulance because I thought that the pain was due to the return of a pleural effusion that had only just cleared up. I went to the hospital on Jan 5 2016 for a follow up procedure that had been arranged during my treatment for the pleural effusion and I was admitted immediately . I was told that I had a left ventricular thrombus and anticoagulant therapy started within minutes. Two or three days into my stay I had an angiogram and it was found that I had a blockage in my L.A.D I was informed that I had suffered a heart attack and the pain I thought was due to my previous pleural effusion was a S.T.E.M.I I was told that because my blockage was in an awkward area it wouldn't be safe to stent me before an m.r.i scan was done. It is now September 2016 and I still haven't had a scan. I have been to my G.P five or six times to enquire as to why I am still waiting and no satisfactory answer has come back from the hospital. Have I been waiting too long? I'm getting very worried now

Far too long, does you Dr even have a report on your previous episode on Jan 2016, if he does, demand a copy of that report.
We had a similar set of circumstances, echo done in Jan 2016, young houseman who we saw suggested that husband would need a pacemaker soon, and explained about the pacemaker and gave us the name of it, and instructions to look it up on the internet.
Weeks went past, and i kept asking local GP for report on that appt, nothing, and husband getting worse slowly, and pain in left arm, had been dismiised as not heart related.
March, I started a campaign of getting some results, rang the hospital and asked why was their no report from echo done in Jan, rang senior heart specialist secretary, who had been husbands nominated specialist, on the wall behind his bed, and again asked why no report from his echo in Jan, got the local GP to write a firm letter to the hospital again asking the same question, in front of me, I was blunt do it here and now so i know its done, and give me a copy.
Finally got a letter for appt on the 15 April, on the 7th April husband collapsed at home, I drove him to the heart hospital, and after a lot of mucking around finally saw the heart specialist. I told him about our appt in Jan, and the lack of letter to our GP about the results, the suggestion from his houseman that husband needed a pacemaker, his face fell, he then turned and said to the housman and junior that was with him, my office, with C's file, now and stormed out.
You should have seen their faces, they were not happy as specialist is a very senior professor, nurses have told us he's a nightmare if you make a mistake with his patients, never saw the juniors after that, they did not come near us again, maybe because I am dangerous to annoy, I don't mince words with Dr's who i believe are stuffing us around.
Don't allow them to stuff you around, keep a file of your condition, so if anybody says something that differs from what you already have you can pull them up really fast, with the statement, thats not what the other Dr said in this letter, that slows them down from trying to offer you manure, educate yourself with correct medical terms for your heart, borrow books from the library and start reading, eventually you will get to the stage of yawning over them, and or sounds so much the same, at that point you have absorbed enough to know what is going on.

This is far too long to wait and no wonder you are worried. I can't see what else you can do if you aren't getting any satisfaction from your Doctor. Could you speak to your Surgeons Secretary ? Maybe going straight to him will help.

Thanks for your reply. I've decided to consult a solicitor. I've done some research and discovered that other people is similar circumstances had their treatment started and finished in three months or less. I was only 39 when this happened and my life has been wrecked. I've lost the best job I ever had and I'm more depressed than I thought possible. My treatment has been a farce and I want something done. Thanks for taking time to talk to me
