.....................to do some stocking up - milk, bread etc. Scarf round mouth. Husband driving so that I can get out of car and straight into supermarket. Everything goes well. Meet up with hubby, remove scarf from nose and mouth and do shop. Get to checkout - cashier sneezes, coughs, well hacks really, and says \"This has just come on today!\"
Aagh! Some you win and some you lose! :?

Isn't it always the way? I manage to avoid most people with colds then someone will be a martyr and struggle in to work looking like they are at death's door, spreading germs at gold medal standard. It is often the case that people just don't realise how dangerous it is, especially for us. However, I have explained, and I have also perfected the raised eyebrow in these cases to such a level that people now avoid coming near me when they are coughing and sneezing. In fact, one recently ran from the room to sneeze in the loo to avoid contaminating me. Everyone else cheered her!
Looking forward to summer 8)

Just a quick hello, to let you know that I'm back on line. Hope you are all well. I'm feeling lot better. Been on the pred, hate it but it does do the trick. My temp's back to normal . My main problem now is getting up and about more as have been spending so much time on the sofa lately it seems such an effort to do anything much. Think doing Xmas tree and decs over next few days will give me some 'oomph' and 'va va vroom' again.
Hope you are all keeping well. Thanks to Jacee for keeping me updated re Carole, and others too for phone calls etc. I know I was only off line for 48 hours but it seemed like an eternity. Scary how easily we come to depend on these things - and to think I was a Luddite untill 18 months ago !!!
Lots of Love, Van x

Hi Ann - I believe Van is referring to prednisone, oral / tablet steroids.
Keep warm and well all.
