hi im 50 years old male and have been on 50mg about 4-5 weeks now.

finding my form has a big bearing on how i cope with this condition.

like most people the first weeks was totally unmanageable.

finally felt i was getting somewere after 2-3 weeks as the fear left me

of my condition

but i get down  without warning and thats a hard place to be

when dealing with anxiety its just managable on the good days

im back in work after taking 3 weeks out and i finding it hard at times.

im waking up in the  night sweating a lot.

def better than the earley days when i first discover my condition

but would like to think life is to be enjoyed not endured.

im wondering when or if i should increase my dose.

    Hey

You have done so well to get through the first few weeks, that's must have been so tough?

I remember my first 2 weeks , I was suicidal, didn't sleep lost weight. Now your at the stage of night sweats, gosh I remember that, but hopefully more sleep?

Don't UP the dose yet, for at least another 3 weeks, give it time to settle , you may not need to UP the dose? I remember my dr saying we may UP it, but I had improved so she said let's give it another couple of weeks, by that time I was doing okish, about 60% normal again. You get a few ups and downs, but that's normal too, even with people who don't suffer with this dreadful illness.

Hang in there, that's my opinion anyway xx

Sorry to hear you are suffering aswell, I've been on sertreline before Christmas and it has made me more ill, I was on citalopram for years and I was 10 x better so going back onto that as sertreline really isn't working for me. Maybe see your doctor and mention this to them

Hi. I am 50 this year and male. I too am on 50mg.

I am on week 6 and it's really only last week I have felt more normal

That said I am living with a general buzz of adrenaline in my body over the last few days. My mine seems ok but my anxiety /adrenaline release seems to disagree. I am planning to keep at 50 though and see if I can ride it a bit longer

Sorry no good answer. If you do go to 100 would be great to see how you go.

yep have had that anxity/adrenaline buzz too.

glad to see you are doing ok..

sometimes im nearly afriad to tell someone im ok

cas i minite later i could feel not ok.

i now know what they mean when the say

its ok to not feel ok.

I am also a 50 year old male. Started 50mg Zoloft 2 weeks ago due to anxiety and full blown panic attacks. Not feeling any positive effects of the Zoloft. I have extreme headaches, jaw and neck pain, night sweats, & diarrhea. Taking .25mg of Ativan to get me through the very very difficult times. I feel like I am muddeling through life. The most basic tasks take all my concentration. The Dr. tells me it will take at least 4 weeks to feel the effect. I am hoping the side effects will subside. Even waking from a nap is difficult, the headaches are severe when waking up.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
